Beyond Freedom

What is beyond freedom? To me it means to improve your life in new ways. It means to have the time and flexibility to do what you want on your own terms. It means getting a sense of freedom when you reach a personal goal or triumph. Every person has a different perspective on what freedom means to them and they probably have an idea of how their life would change if they were to reach this point of freedom and go beyond it.

My own personal goal is to pay off all of my debt and give up my day job to pursue my online projects. I can imagine that when I do pay off my debts I will have a new sense of freedom knowing that I will not have to pay money out every month to some company for something I do not own anymore. I am sure it will improve my quality of life in terms that I can do a lot more things with my own time, enjoy myself and look after the people who are important in my life. More >

Identity Quest

I have been doing a lot of thinking recently about the person I am, the person I would like to be and what I would like to change in my life for the better.

I am 29 and I work for a living. I have been fortunate enough to live in Spain for some part of my life, four years when I was ten and I spent a year working out there a couple of years ago. I must say that it was one of the best experiences of my life. I would not hesitate to go and live in Spain again as it is so much better than the UK. The sunshine plays a big part in it of course but the way of life out there is so much more relaxed and there is no real rush to do anything out there.
There are things in my life that I am looking to change in order for me to feel better about myself and to increase my quality of life. I have been thinking about what I want to change for a while now and what it would do for me.

The thing that has always really limited what I do in my life is debt, in the form of a loan. Every time I want to do something I have to be aware that I need to ensure I have enough money to pay my loan. As it is quite a large sum of money it obviously costs me a lot of money each month and with the added addition of rent and the household bills I always end up with no money for myself to go out and enjoy myself. Now I know we are in a recession and every one is feeling the pinch but for me it has been like this for a long time. I really hate having to pay a large chunk of money out every month because I have nothing to show for it. This is my number one unhappy thing in my life at the moment. More >
